Active protection through active cooling
On the second-last day of August, the thermometer climbs to over 30 degrees in many parts of Germany. An opportunity for holidaymakers returning home and those holidaying from the balcony to enjoy the summer a little longer.
However, the increasingly long summer months are pushing some infrastructures to their limits. Fibre optic distributors such as MFCs can suffer from the high temperatures. In the worst-case scenario, overheating can occur, leading to short-term failure and long-term impairment of the active technology. The emergency solution: open the MFG doors and allow the heat to escape.
However, this poses a number of problems:
- everyone has access to the inside of the distribution cabinet,
- additional labour is required to open and close the doors on site.
However, if no measures are taken to reduce heat build-up, this leads to:
- higher maintenance and possibly repair costs,
- local internet outages and therefore dissatisfied end customers.
The solution? The 2LINE Whisper-PoP.
Thanks to its three-stage cooling system, the MFG automatically regulates itself to the desired temperature in the interior and thus prevents the active technology from failing. There is no need to open and close the doors. With a noise level of 35dB(A), the MFC can also be used in residential areas day and night without any problems. Furthermore, the MFC is maintenance-free (filter change when required).
